We are thrilled to announce that Prof. Seung-Woo Cho and the SCBEL has made the 2023 Top 100 National R&D List!, which is officially bestowed by the Ministry of Science and ICT to those that have demonstrated exceptional and astounding results in the year 2023!!

Over the years, our lab has pursued groundbreaking research to successfully establish the fundamentals of tissue-derived extracellular matrix hydrogels as well as its biomedical applications focused in culture of organoids in vitro as well as in vivo transplantations for tissue regeneration. Not only have Prof. Seung-Woo Cho and the dedicated members of the SCBEL have published such results in Nature Communications but also carried out several technology transfer. The professor has notably founded and taken the role of CTO at CellArtgen, which is currently focusing on the mass production of Regenix® which are liver, intestine, lung, heart, and kidney-derived hydrogel matrixes as platforms for in vitro organoid culture.

We believe that these accomplishments are truly an inspiring way for our lab to end 2023 and are just the beginning of our lab's adventure advancing stem cell and tissue engineering research as well as translating theses technologies to push the boundaries of scientific innovation to create a better tomorrow!
